Swapping internals with another iMac

I have 2 iMacs. One is a mid-2010 with a 3.06 Core i3 processor. The other is a mid-2011 with a 2.5 Core i5 processor. The casing for the newer one is in really rough condition, so I wanted to swap the internals so that the newest computer is in the best casing. Is this possible?

Probably not. I believe there are port differences on the new one that won't match/fit in the old case.

The only difference that I can tell is that the display port is now also a Thunderbolt port.

As important is will the mounting holes in the board line up with the spots on the case....
