boots up to black screen / Shut Down message often if running

15" PowerBook. 1.76 GHz, Most times it boots to black screen. Before this mostly dead season it would boot up after a few tries. If running, has kernal panics often if not being used. Hardly ever wakes up from sleep correctly.

Since you mention kernel panics I would first reseat the ram. Make sure the socket is clean and the memory snaps solidly in place. If that does not correct your problem try booting into your system disk and go to utilities/disk repair. Run disk repair until it reports no trouble found. Good luck. Ralph
