water damage iPhone, left for a few months, worked but not booting

my iPhone 5, which suffered some water damage few months back.

I left it drying for a few months, turned it on and it was working again.

In the last few days, since updating the software the phone was working fine, until it ran out of battery (playing music all afternoon). Now trying to recharge it and the phone won't turn on at all. tried pressing both the power and home button trick and didn't work. it has worked prior to this incident, just not today.

any help would be appreciated.

Leaving to dry was a bad idea you should have water treated it.

First thing to try is a new battery and see how you get on.

phone came back to life just moments ago.

same thing just been sitting next to me all day and suddenly the apple sign appeared.

I took it in to get it examined this morning by mac technician in the hope for a replacement, but there was visible corrosion on the logic board, so now i'm in the dilemma whether to fix that or leave it until it crashes again and repair then.??

If you could get a replacement I would but it just switching on by itself points to damage on logic board and you'll probobly get more problems down the line

by

so should i try cleaning the corrosion off now, or wait..

i mean what guarantee is there if i turn off the device it'll power on again.

by

Well the water sensors on the phone are probobly activated and you'll not get a replacement under warrenty.

There's no guarantees with water damage
