touch screen column not responding after take apart.

Hi All,

I foolishly thought it was a good idea to take apart my iPad.

Having had a good look around I attepmted to resassemble the device and have now found that a 2cm row of the screen is now not responding.

The area in question is located about 2cm from the top of the iPad and stretches the full length of the screen. Downloading a drawing app, I can clearly see that the rest of the screen works perfectly just this one area.

Looking at the connector on the logic board + the cable I cant see any damage to either and wonder if anyone else has encountered this and if so did you manage to fix it?

I can provide an image that shows where the lack of response is, in relation to the screen if people want?

You have to realize that there have been almost no problems with these as yet and those that have occurred were warranty covered.

You've either damaged the digitizer cable or the digitizer itself, sadly.

It's not cheap, but you can always replace it.

I know this is a very old thread, but I got the same issue after my son dropped his iPad, a technician already tried different digitizer, so I ruled that out, is there any change it's just a loose connection still somewhere else, or there is a chance something in the logic board cracked?
