originally there was a 256GB Cruicial M4, now i added a 1 TB WD Red in exchange for the dvd-drive.

That drive was not on the list of possible suspects. Now you know why.

so would it work if i switch the postions?

Are they not the same size? I will test tomorrow

The one I looked at spec'd a 3.5 in drive,,, your OEM is a 2.5 inch… I think you'll also get overheating/battery life issues with that large of a drive.

Chosen Solution

Kit says: Does not include hard drive. We recommend a 240 GB SSD, 500 GB 7200 rpm drive, or 750 GB hybrid drive. What drive did you choose? The problem could be the drive. Or the cable.
