Can I replace my battery with the one from the 5s?

Hi,

I was wondering if you have any experiance of this?

My iPhone 5 is now around 1 year old, and the battery life isn't great, it's getting gradually worse.

I notice that the iPhone 5 battery APN 616-0613 or 616-0611 5.45whr, appears to be identical, in terms of conector location, and size to the iPhone 5s battery APN 616-0728.

Does anybody know if I can replace the battery in my iPhone 5 with an iPhone 5s battery will it work?

The connectors are different. iPhone 5 battery has a 4 pin connector, the 5s one has only 3

Hi,

Thanks, just taking a close look a the tear down pictures I can see that the connector of the iPhone 5 battery does indeed have 1 more connector.

Didn't spot it when I originally looked at the images.

Ah well that's a shame, looks like the replacement battery will need to be an iPhone 5 one then !

Ok, the pins in connector of iphone 5s less than iphone 5 but I am wondering if I replace battery iphone 5c for iphone 5 then what happens?

You can't replace it. There is a slightly difference from the connectors of their batteries. You can find the difference from the picture.

Why would you go to the effort of doing that?

Better battery, don't want to wait for new battery to arrive in case you ordered/sent wrong battery. Just for the !&&* of it. Experience, and just to do something nobody has yet. (at least not documented on google)
