Display Seperating from lower left

The display of our Macbook Pro 15-inch Mid-2009 Unibody is separating from the bottom left and moving diagonally to the upper right. over time the front display glass cracked and, apparently, the wifi card or cable was damaged. I can't see how the front of the display is supposed to be attached to its back. On-line suggestions I have read centered around using an epoxy though that is not part of the original design. How are the front and back of the display supposed to be secured?

First you must completely and properly ID your Mac... there were 4 different 15" machines made that year. That will help you answer many of your questions.
