Computer shuts down when I select 'sleep'

When I select 'sleep' the G4 computer sometimes, but not always, shuts down. It always starts up again, but all my applications have to be opened again each time.

Hi thanks for the advice but I might have sorted it by resetting the default settings in 'energy saver'. Seems OK so far.

Lets try the tried and true resets first if you have not already done so. I'm including URLs for resetting PRAM and PMU. Try them and see if that helps. If not we will try elsewhere. Ralph

If your computer shuts down while is sleep it usually means it has lost all power. I would suspect a faulty battery. Try downloading Coconut battery and see what your battery's condition is.
