Why is my Network not showing up on my iPhone?

I use WiFi in an airport and my iPhone doesn't list any networks as being available. I think that it may be blocked by the Airport or Apple. When I asked about it in a repair shop, they told me that the WiFi antenna in my iPhone4S has been damaged. How could this happen? Is it really damaged or is it being banned by the Airport or Apple? I am confused. Please tell me?

Try doing a software restore. If that doesn't fix it, you've got a hardware issue.
