Brand new 13 inch MacBook Air refuses to turn on.

I recently purchased my 13inch mid 2012 macbook air. One night after watching a movie with vlc media player I shut down the laptop normally. As at the time of shut down my macbook was fully charged. I then procedued to unpkug the mac from the wall socket. Two days later when I tried to power on my mac, the laptop unresponsive. The screen showed no signs of life. Upon checking the charge the green led light is on showing that the laptop is fully charged. I have tried all the troubleshoot methods on apples website including resetting the pram and the SMC. Please I would like to avoid going back to the apple store can someone give me some advice. Thanks in advance.
