My battery does not work any more

I have a MacBook, three or four months ago it fall water over it and since, the MacBook does not recognize its battery any more so I have to use it only with electric power. I took it over service and they told me that some "electronic component" is not working. Where can I get the part that alows the computer to recognize the battery again? (I don't know the name of the component)

Thank you very much for the information you can give me.

Hi! It sounds like you may have a faulty battery connector. I would suggest identifying your MacBook via our ID Your Mac page and then use the appropriate guide to replace the battery connector. If you have a MacBook Core 2 Duo, use this guide. If you have a MacBook Core Duo, then use this guide. Hopefully this helps out.

Since the unit has had water on/in it I wonder if the battery could of shorted out and no longer be functional. Perhaps the OP could try a different battery and see if that works. Ralph

I've very rarely seen the connectors fail. I would do as rj713 recommended. But the answer by Walter is the kind of documentation I like to see and almost got an upvote form me. Maybe a bit of editing would make it better.
