MacBook Pro Display is part green

Nothing of significance has happened but I turned on my Macbook Pro the other day and parts of it are green. I've tried to fix it in the display option without resolve. I am unable to hook it up to another monitor because I don't have any of the the correct cords (i.e.: old Dell screen...fuhgetaboutit and my macbook doesn't have an hdmi receptor). I have a screenshot but I don't know how to attach it.

I would just carry on but the "shimmering" of the lines is making me crazy and if I were epileptic, I'd most definitely have to shut the whole thing down.

Please help.

Verify or eliminate the VGU (VGC) by attaching an external monitor... if the problem persists is is the VGU and will need a logic board to repair. If it goes away boot from your install disk or a virgin OS to eliminate Software/System corruption. If the problem dissapears booting from a CD/DVD you need to reinstall the OS... if it doesn't the fault is in the internal video chain, cable, LCD.
