How do I install the power button

I used the guide on here to replace the power button but I am not sure whether I needed to move the little part attached to it, its the little bar that, i assume, acts like a spring. Do I move it or do i leave it as is when replacing the old one? Currently I installed it as is without touching and it still doesn't spring back when I press it on. Not sure if I installed it correctly or could the problem be something else.

Leave the little bar as it is. When repairing the iPhone (the iPhone is face down, so in the repair position the small bar goes down (towards front of iPhone).

I am fighting with this issue at the moment. it appears to be a design thing. the screws seem to need to be screwed in just right and then loctited. I cant find any images of missing spacers etc.
