Change the existing HDD with a new 320 GB Seagate

Can a swap out the existing Toshiba HDD on my MacBook A1181 from late 2006 with a new 320GB Seagate HDD without having to change

the other harware?

Does it matter what version of SATA? I am thinking about swapping my 160GB out with a Seagate 500Gb Momentus 7200 RPM SATA-300. Would that work?

Will a 7200 RPM HDD use a lot more power than a 5400 one?
