What is the best order for updating my MacBook Pro?

I have moved all of my documents onto an external hard drive. My goals are to put in a new battery, update my RAM, and do a system restore. I would also like to upgrade to Mnt. Lion and install Bootcamp and Parallels. Should I do the system restore before or after I change out the battery and update the RAM or the other way around? I assume I should do those things before I attempt anything else. I am a novice and would greatly appreciate any advice.

Thank you!

Jana

Hi Jana,

You can change the battery and update the Ram without compromising your data.

Here is the guide to change you battery.

Here is the guide to upgrade your Ram.

Now, when upgrading to M.Lion you have 2 options, a upgrade or a clean install. Either way, you have to backup your data. The only difference is that when upgrading, everything will sill be there once you are done. If you go for the clean install, you will need to move back the data from the backup yo made.

Hope this help.

Disconnect from the charger, take out the battery, insert the new RAM, then insert the new battery... the rest really makes no difference.
