Why is my iPod not turning on when I charge it?

History

went on a camping trip (worst ever!) i dropped my i pod in the beach water for mear seconds, let it sit to dry and it worked fine later at night. the next day i got dropped off at my home and as i was getting off my car, My ipod dropped to the cement falling on the corner of the headphone plug. and now it wont start at all! PLZ HELP!

Raul, you have two issues going on here. do it systematically and start with the easy things. Try to reset your Touch by

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Make sure you have a full battery. Plug it into an AC charger, not your USB port.

Okay so if that does not do anything, it might be time to open up your ipod and check for any visible damage. Follow this guide to clean your iPod. At least, replace your battery. Once you have this accomplished, re-evaluate what works and what doesn't and let us know.
