My Problem

Cracked panels, front and back. Bad ear piece speaker, bad power button

My Fix

The repairs went extremely easy considering I have never repaired any type of phone. I purchased an IFIXIT tool kit from Radio Shack. That is how I found you guys. My parts came in on time and repairs took place. One phone I had to only replace the back panel, super easy. The other phone had some serious issues. I could not believe I had the phone in what seemed to be a million little pieces. I had to install a new sensor cable, which I’m really glad I order because that's why the power button was not working. I had to replace the ear piece speaker to. Somehow it came apart and the cooper coiling was unraveling. I put the phone back together and its works great. Looks and sound brand new. It took about a total of three hours for both phone repairs. Now if I had to do it again I could in less than an hour. Your pictures and step by step instructions are the bomb!! The only thing I can think that would help is; on the photos you color code the screws but the screw heads are not. So when that sucker is in a million pieces those little Minion screws are all looking alike. So maybe a screw set with the same color code would be freaking AWESOME!! I would have gladly paid for them. That is what slowed me down. All in all I give you guys an A+

My Advice

Keep up the great website!!!

My Problem

My back panel had been cracked for a while, and the speakers eventually crapped out. But that didn't justify the expense. The charger was slowly working less and less until it basically finally stopped. I had a refurbished phone and I think that's why things went awry so quickly.

I quoted a shop, $50 for just the charging dock. For $80 I can get all the parts and tools to fix all three problems. No brainer.

My Fix

Dissassembly was a bit tricksy as it was my first time working on a phone, but it went off without a hitch.

Reassambly does NOT mean "follow steps in reverse order" unless you remember all the orientations of every part you dissassembled.

There were definitely additional steps in reassembly that I had to look up on youtube, in particular the orientation of the gold pin.

Also the microphone cover wouldn't fit anymore because there was an additional gold part on the charging dock. But the mic still works so who knows.

My Advice

I kept my screws organized by drawing a grid on paper and writing the step and the size of each screw in its individual cell. That helped a LOT.

Also, if you are new to this, do your best to note orientation of the smallest things you wouldn't expect because ifixit doesn't necessarily provide the information.

Youtube videos, somehow, illogically, will be blurry the moments you need to see clarity, and sometimes go off-screen when something intricate is going on. I.e. if you can FIND the job for the model, don't expect it to be professionally produced.

That all being said, fixing something yourself is doable and HIGHLY satisfying, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. Fiero is a powerful and fulfilling emotion.

My Problem

My old iPhone 4S's battery wasn't holding much of a charge. Also, the back was getting fairly scratched up by dirt that would get stuck between by case and the phone. I decided to buy both the battery replacement and the transparent rear panel.

My Fix

The repair went great. Only needed to remove a total of 4 screws to replace the back panel and the battery. Took maybe 10 minutes to finish. Clear back panel looks great. Unfortunately, I can't take a photo since the iPhone is the only camera I have at the moment.

My Advice

Clear back looks great, definitely worth it.

My Problem

I replaced my iPhone 4S Revelation back which had shattered in my pocket with a new one. Though it was my second repair, I still love the kit

My Fix

Having done a repair before, it literally took me 5 seconds to repair. Popped the screws out, slid the old back off, new one on and done.

My Advice

No it is straight forward

My Problem

My iPhone 4S fell off a shelf and the back panel got smashed.

My Fix

This process was insanely simple. Took less than 5 minutes. My old phone now looks awesome. Wish I had done this sooner. I just got the iPhone 6, so I was sending this phone to my dad. He loves the clear back panel.

My Advice

The instructions were spot on. All tools and replacement screws were supplied in the kit.

My Problem

i dropped my iphone and the rear panel broke

and also the battery won't hold the charge like

it used to so i ordered both

My Fix

it was surprisingly easy to remove the rear panel it took me like 2 minutes or so.

the battery was easy too i only had one problem with one stubborn screw it almost stripped so i had to be a little creative to remove it

it took me like 15 min but now i'm so happy with the transparent rear panel i like my iphone even more

My Advice

the only tricky part is with the pressure contact from underneath the battery connector put it back where it was needs a little patience

My Problem

A girl I was working with dropped my phone and broke the back. Instead of using my apple care I start to look around the internet and found Ifit.com.

My Fix

The process was long and hard. We couldnt get the broken back off. In the end we had to pull it off. It was really funny watch my dad going at it..

My Advice

Dont let anyone touch your phone lol... But really this wedsite is amazing, I love it...

My Problem

broken back glass.

My Fix

5 minutes,no problem. u folks are amazing

My Advice

always go to ifixit first.

My Problem

Dropped my iPhone, shattered the back.

My Fix

This kit helped me fix it in about two minutes. No lie, it could not be easier.

My Advice

I can't wait to fix more things with the included screwdrivers!

My Problem

My iPhone hit hard concrete and the display shattered. I figured I'd change to white as well as throw in a new battery and a clear backing.

My Fix

The repair process to replace the screen can be rather slow. Sometimes I felt that the tools supplied were a little too big to fit in some of the tight spaces so that you can have the threads catch the holes, specifically the screws in the corner with the tabs. The Battery and backplate are easy for any one, it's the front that has complexity. The new battery really brought my iPhone back to a normal day without charging 2 times a day. The phone literally feels brand new and I couldn't be happier.

My Advice

Take it slow, and have a good place to store the screws, marking each one.
