Onda V701 Troubleshooting

7 Inch Android device, 1.5 GHz Dual Core, 1GB RAM, WIFI, HDMI, 8GB Storage

The device will not power on ¶ 

The device will not respond or show any sign of powering up.

The device is not charged ¶ 

Plug in the device and wait for it to charge.

The device needs to be reset ¶ 

Press and hold the power button for 5-10 seconds.

The battery is faulty ¶ 

Follow the Onda V701 Battery Replacement guide to replace the battery.

The device will not charge ¶ 

The battery will not charge when the device is plugged in.

The charging cable needs to be reset ¶ 

Unplug and check to make sure no foreign objects or debris are present in the connector. If necessary, clean out the connector. Then, re-plug in the charging cable and ensure that it is properly seated.

The charging cable is not working ¶ 

The charging cable could be bad. Try using a different charging cable.

The battery connections need to be checked ¶ 

Follow the Onda V701 Battery Replacement guide to gain access to the battery. Ensure the battery connections are not loose. If they are, re-solder them.

The battery is faulty ¶ 

Follow the Onda V701 Battery Replacement guide to replace the battery.

The screen is unresponsive ¶ 

The picture on the screen is stuck on an image and the screen is unresponsive.

The device needs to be reset ¶ 

Hold down the power button for 5-10 seconds to perform a soft reset.

The device will not power off or reset ¶ 

Wait until the battery runs out and then recharge the device. Then, turn the device back on.

The screen is distorted ¶ 

The picture on the screen is distorted, it is possibly broken or cracked.

The screen is distorted but does not appear to be physically broken ¶ 

If no damage is suspected, perform a soft reset of the device by holding the power button for 5-10 seconds.

The screen is cracked or broken ¶ 

Follow the Onda V701 Screen Replacement guide to replace the screen.

The speaker is faulty ¶ 

No sound coming from the device or the sound is distorted.

The device volume is all the way down ¶ 

Press the volume up button to set the volume on high.

The device sound needs to be checked ¶ 

Plug in headphones and compare that audio to the speaker. This will test if the speaker is broken.

The speaker is faulty ¶ 

Follow the Onda V701 Speaker Replacement guide to replace the speaker.

The front-facing camera is not properly working ¶ 

The front-facing camera takes poor quality pictures or does not work at all.

The front-facing camera takes poor quality pictures ¶ 

Clean the lens on the outside of the device. If the quality does not improve, follow the Onda V701 Front-Facing Camera Replacement guide to remove the front-facing camera and clean it.

The front-facing camera does not work at all ¶ 

Follow the Onda V701 Front-Facing Camera Replacement guide to replace the front-facing camera.

The device needs to be reset ¶ 

How to reset the device when problems are occurring.

Hold the Power Button for 5-10 seconds to perform a soft reset.

The device firmware needs to be updated ¶ 

Check to see if the firmware is up to date and if not then update it.
