Marshall Major IV Audio Cuts Out
Marshall Major IV audio will be cut out, and no audio can be heard.
Faulty Power/Battery System
Sometimes the headphones will not turn on even when you have charged them.
- Charge the headphones with the provided USB type-c cable for 30-60 minutes.
- Hold the power button for 5-10 seconds.
- Check for any lights on the device.
- Try charging with wireless charging.
If the headphones still don't power on, the battery most likely needs to be replaced. You can learn how to replace the battery here. If the headphones can only be charged wirelessly, see "Faulty Charging Port".
Broken Ear Cushion
While you are wearing the headphones, you may experience lost audio in one of the speakers.
- Swap the sides of the headphones to see if that specific speaker can still not be heard.
If the same side still can’t be heard from, then you may need to replace the cushion of the headphones. You can learn how to replace it here.
Audio Control Knob Issues
You might have difficulties getting the headphones to respond to volume control.
- Reset the device by holding the power button for several seconds to turn it off, then again to turn it on.
- Make sure headphones are charged; maybe just a power issue, not a control issue.
- If the knob feels loose, you may need to disassemble the headphones and set the knob back into its correct place.
- Complete lack of function may be an issue with internal connection, disassemble and ensure internals are all attached correctly (worst case: may need to re-solder connection points).
- May have a buildup of dirt and grime, remove the knob and use a toothpick to scrape out the gunk.
If the knob is still not functional, you may need to replace it as shown here.
Broken Headband Cushion
When listening, you might have audio that cannot be heard due to a headband malfunction.
- Make sure the headband is comfortable and stable to sit on your head.
If the headband cushion becomes worn or no longer offers comfort, it's possible an internal connection has been damaged under the cushion and a replacement may be necessary as shown here.
Faulty Charging Port
When you plug in the charger for the headphones, there might be no charge
- Clean out the port of any debris.
- Look to see if the wire is frayed or broken.
- Make sure to use the provided charger
- Try utilizing the wireless charging feature
If there is still no charge after being plugged in, there may be an issue with the charging port, and it may need to be replaced as shown here. If the wireless charging function also doesn't charge the headphones, the battery may be the cause of this issue. In this case, see "Faulty Power/Battery System".
