Keychron K10 Max Wireless Not Charging
Plugging in the keyboard does not charge the battery, or the keyboard does not hold a charge.
Faulty charging cable
The charging cable you are using may be damaged or incompatible with the keyboard. This can cause inconsistent charging or prevent charging completely. Inspect the cable to ensure there are no bent pins, exposed wires or loosened connectors. Try powering a different USB-C device with the cord to ensure it delivers a charge. Try a different cable that you know can support a charge with your device. Replace the cable if the keyboard charges with a different one.
Faulty Power Source
The power supply that is attempting to charge the keyboard may be weak or unstable. Ensure that your charging block is rated for at least 5V/1A. This is usually listed somewhere on your charging block. If you are using a charging hub with multiple ports, are plugged into a monitor port or multiple cables are daisy-chained together, not enough power may be being delivered, so you may need to plug the charger directly into the wall. Lastly, a wall socket may be faulty. Try plugging in your charging block to a different outlet.
Dirty charging port
The charging port may be blocked by dust or debris. It may then be necessary to clean your charging port. Inspect the port for any dust or debris. There are a few different methods to do this.
- Compressed air: Hold a can of compressed air approximately 4 to 5 inches away from the port of the keyboard. Blow away any dust or debris that may be blocking it.
- Brush: Grab a brush with gentle bristles, such as a soft-bristled brush or a small paintbrush. Carefully run it around the port as you clean out anything that could be blocking the charging port.
- Cotton swab with alcohol: Dampen a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol. Gently wipe the charging port, ensuring you don't soak the port. It is important to dry the port afterwards with either a cloth or a dry cotton swab. Otherwise, give adequate time for the port to dry.
Damaged charging port
The USB-C port could be loose, corroded or physically damaged. Inspect for any irregularity in the port. Carefully wiggle the cable to check for intermittent charging. If the port is damaged, you can replace it by removing the screws on the bottom of the keyboard, unscrewing the USB-C daughterboard and replacing it with a new one.
Failing battery
The keyboard uses a small lithium-ion battery. These batteries typically last about 2 to 3 years, depending on use and charging habits. The battery may become deeply damaged, swollen or internally damaged. Replace the battery by following the Keychron K10 Max Wireless Battery Replacement Guide.
Software or Firmware Issues
The charging controller might not be functioning if the firmware is outdated or corrupted. Connect your keyboard with a USB-C cable. Find and download the latest firmware for the K10 Max Wireless Keyboard from the Keychron website, found here. Restart your keyboard and test charging again.
