The Kindle Fire HD 8.9” (model #3HT7G) is a 2012 tablet computer that allows users to read books, view comics, watch movies, and find general entertainment at a mid-range price. The previous entry in the series of Kindle releases is the Kindle Fire HD 7". The most notable difference from the Kindle Fire HD 7” is the larger screen size. To verify that you have the 8.9” model, simply measure the diagonal distance from one corner to another.
The Kindle Fire HD 8.9" can be purchased with either 16GB or 32GB of hard drive space.
Identification
The Kindle Fire HD 8.9” (model #3HT7G) is available in a matte gray finish. The back case is also matte gray, with a glossy black plastic strip running horizontally near the bottom. Small speaker grilles are located at both ends of the black strip, and the Kindle logo is debossed on the right side.
