My Problem
The fan in my MacBook was sounding like a plane taking off at times.
My Fix
The instructions on how to get to the fan and how to remove it are excellent. Everything was exactly the way they said it would be. The black felt tape is probably impossible to remove without tearing it. My only problem was a screw that I took out by mistake near the left side of the fan that wasn't supposed to come out. Then I couldn't find where to put it back. So I do have an extra screw left over.
My Advice
I used a straight edge razor blade to scrape the black felt tape off the fan as much as possible. I suggest that if you print out the instructions in b/w like I did, use a pen to mark the encircled screws to remove. Kind of difficult to see the circles in black and white.
