My Problem
Third generation iPod wouldn't even turn on. I'd replaced the battery about 4 years ago, I figured it was dead again.
My Fix
Replaced the battery with little to no trouble.
My Advice
The only thing is with these old iPods, if they only came with a FireWire connection cable, they'll only CHARGE with a FireWire connection cable. So don't think the battery is faulty, make sure to charge it with a FireWire cable.
