My Problem
My battery stopped taking a charge, both wirelessly and through the USB-C port. It started by staying at 50% state of charge, regardless of how long or how little it charged. Then, I would get a question mark in the middle of the battery. Google reports showed this being a common problem among Pixel 4XL owners. I figured I'd try replacing the battery, it was worth a shot. The phone was out of warranty anyway.
My Fix
The repair went smoothly. The iOpener worked flawlessly and I was able to sneak the opening picks under and cut the glue.
My Advice
The most difficult portion of the entire process was cleaning the old glue off the phone. That's where a hair dryer or more heat helps.
