My Problem
iPad dropped numerous times, repair shop replace front glass. Home key loose and inoperative. Previously used IFIXIT to replace iPhone6 battery so I wanted to try replacing Home Key on iPad Air.
My Fix
MUCH EASIER than the instructions lead one to believe. EVERYTHING needed was in the iOpener Kit! Directions were easy to follow (no shortcuts or missing instructions). Only needed to heat the iOpener ONCE!
My Advice
Very easy to do, but TAKE YOUR TIME ! Go slower than you think you should and you won't break anything or damage any wires/cables/connectors. The Home Key ribbon "lock pin" is VERY THIN plastic. Be GENTLE and you won't break it. IF you DO break it (I did), you can reinstall directly in "locked" position and then tape down in place --I used old cable security tape (new tape is on the new parts). Again, very easy but TAKE YOUR TIME !
