iPad Air Wi-Fi Front Panel Assembly Replacement

My Problem

It was cheaper to fix than replace, plus I LOVE a challenge.

My Fix

I was a little nervous. I have replaced several iPhone screens, but this was my first iPad. Clear a spot at a bench, spread out a darker colored (lint-free) fabric. I use dark so that tiny screws, etc. will stand out. Also, if you have access to an anti-static mat, that is better.

My Advice

If you are not using an anti-static mat, be sure anytime you let go of whatever you are working on, you ground yourself to the metal frame before proceeding. Do not rush, follow instructions, BE GENTLE! I used clear packing tape to keep the digitizer together while working with it. It also kept small shards from sticking out and cutting me. Use clear tape so you can still see the LED display. Be diligent when cleaning old glass and seal fragments. Be patient.
