My Problem
My old battery was at the end of its life and was causing performance issues with the operating system. This got worse when I upgraded to IOS 11.
My Fix
Overall the repair was not too bad. Removing the adhesive from behind the battery was the most time consuming aspect. I went through about 6 feet of dental floss and several heatings with a hair dryer before it finally came out.
My Advice
Be careful removing the adhesive strips in one piece because it is a pain to remove them if the strip breaks.
Also, be careful putting the new adhesive strips on because they are extremely sticky and will not come apart if they folds up.
