Macbook Pro screen fixed by Macbook Repair Rookie

My Problem

I banged my laptop pretty good and I got a 1 1/2" wide black vertical band on my screen. I could tell it was a screen issue not a board issue because if I twisted the screen the band went away when I forced a connection. I had three options... put it in the shop and pay knuckleheads to repair it in their own sweet time, buy a new laptop or find a replacement part and fix it myself.

My Fix

Repair was straight forward. The repair guide is very well done.

My Advice

Be really careful with the micro connectors.... they are easy to damage. Blue tooth antenna wires were a bear to run because they are just long enough. I found it easier to connect them first, then run them in their race. I used a cookie sheet to work on in the case I dropped any of the screws. I also used a magnetic parts bowl AWAY from the hard drive and computer to hold all the screws together to make reassembly easier.
