My Problem
The phone would shut off with a lot of battery left and there was also that new iOS message on the battery menu that said it wasn’t working right.
My Fix
The repair went very well exactly as the guide said. of course nothing goes completely as easy as the guide says but I got thru it. Def easier than screen replacement and most of the other components.
My Advice
There should be a little more warnings about taking the screen off. Should mention to go pretty deep into the phone. If you don’t, you can start separating the digitizer screen from its bracket that actually connects the screen to the phone chassis. I found that out the hard way and had the carefully pry the carriage up to disconnect it from the phone chassis.
The battery adhesive didn’t come off as easy as the instructions and video displayed. It was difficult to pull it away from the battery initially so you can pull all three of them out at the same time. One of them snapped. After I got the other two of pretty easily and I had to raise up one side and grab it from the middle as best as I could and I finally grabbed it to pull it out like the others.
Putting the new ones in didn’t go as smoothly as I thought. Be sure to not expose any adhesive on the top of the battery. It will stick to the screen of you do. And make sure you are straight when you finally lay it on the back of the battery. I thought it was straight then towards the end it started to go sideways and once it’s down...there’s not taking it up.
I thought I broke it all because the screen didn’t turn on so I took it all apart again and disconnected everything and reconnected everything and it worked so something wasn’t plugged in well.
I’d say after you are done hook everything back up before you start screwing stuff back in to make sure it turns on. Then power it down disconnect battery and screw everything in and reconnect the battery and put it all back together.
