Broken iPad 5 screen.
My Fix
The screen was completely shattered, so it was a long time being carefully to remove all of the glass, without ripping the home button ribbon or scratching the LCD. It went really well, and all is working again, but it took a long time.
My Advice
I like to use a tiny flathead screw driver all the way around the edges, especially when the screen is completely shattered and there's no hope of prying it off all in one piece. I take the tiny flathead and follow the path of the adhesive, very carefully, because if you slip you scratch the LCD.... Try to go away from the LCD as much as possible if you're going to do this, and be prepared for shattered glass all over the place, but that adhesive and the edges of the screen come up really easy that way, it's time consuming but worth it to be sure the device can be fixed and replaced properly.
