My Problem
My battery was dying at 50% -then 80%, and finally 95% the day I repaired it.
My Fix
Both adhesive strips broke, so I removed the old battery with a hairdryer, credit card and floss. After this minor setback, I was successful in solving the problem!
My Advice
Using the hairdryer, 25-30 seconds on high is effective. It took several tries to loosen all the adhesive.
The screen doesn't need to be completely removed; I held it up with a can.
Also, while lifting my screen, a loud noise scared me and it popped off too fast! Thankfully, instead of the cable tearing, the home button bracket flew out and the cable unplugged itself. Maybe it was loose from a previous screen replacement…beware of tiny flying parts.
