New life for a 2012 MacBook Pro
My Problem
As I was finishing up installing a new SSD drive into my son's 2012 MacBook Pro, I noticed that I was not able to log in to his iCloud account because the number 1-9 keys would not work. I had to connect a USB keyboard and troubleshoot. Sure enough, those keys were dead. In my search for a solution, I found iFixits repair guide and gave it a shot!
My Fix
The repair went great! I did notice how dusty things were inside the computer and was able to do a little cleaning as well. The repair guide with comments was perfect and the video gave you a great perspective and over view of what the repair would be like. Much easier than I thought.
My Advice
Organize the screws. I organized by placing the screws on sticky notes that had the repair step chapter number written on it. If there was an order or placement to the screws I would lay them out in that order and write a note on the paper. Worked like a charm. Read the comments. Great advice from those who have gone before!
