2nd time's a charm

My Problem

My 60G PS3 was dead for the last 3 years due to the YLOD

My Fix

I followed the step by step instructions provided by ifixit and it all went well. The system turned on at first but then went in to the overheating fans going crazy stage. I turned it off and researched what it could possible be. I placed 1 penny under each bracket that holds the heat sink together and that did it for me. PS3 is up and running!

My Advice

Make sure you do your research before giving up.
