My Problem
The battery in the phone couldn't hold a charge to save its life. I'd charge it overnight to 100% and it would be at 30% by lunchtime.
My Fix
The repair went well EXCEPT for removing the adhesive strips from the phone to get the old battery out. They broke immediately. iFixit's recommendation of using a hair dryer to heat up the strips and slipping a credit card under the battery only bent my credit card. Not wanting to start a lithium fire, I ended up taking it to a phone repair shop and asking them if they could just remove the battery. Without hesitating, the repair person took a hard metal spatula to the battery and pried it out. I took the phone home to continue, and finished the repair without a hitch.
My Advice
Have a backup plan for when you break the adhesive strips, because you will.
