Replaced my hard drive cable

My Problem

As soon as I tried to boot up my Mac, I would get this flashing folder with a question mark in the middle of it, and the computer would never boot no matter how much I tried. Turns out the hard drive was never being read because the cable was shot, so I just bought a replacement cable and it all worked out.

My Fix

Very straightforward! As someone who knows his way around the computer but not around the parts of the computer, I was worried that this would end up a disaster or I was ordering the wrong part, but sure enough it was the right one and everything went smoothly. I was very happy with the cable I bought, it arrived on time and everything.

My Advice

Just put all your screws somewhere you won't lose them and they won't go flying! I had an incident involving a 4-year-old, a balloon, and about 10 minutes of searching for a tiny screw, so I would use something to store them that can't be knocked over
