My Problem
My macbook wouldn't recognize my hard drive, and when I plugged it in via usb, it was able to read it, so I assumed my cable had gone out again, because I bought a cheap (see low quality, no warranty) cable on Amazon to replace the first one.
My Fix
The repair was pretty straight forward, the guide was very helpful, and I didn't have any issues, the cable was a little stiff and hard to get into place, but I was able to figure it all out.
My Advice
Don't buy cheap warranty-less hard drive cable for your mid 2012 macbook, they will probably break again. As it's a flawed part already.
