My Problem

I need a second hard drive more than a DVD drive in hand for purposes of more storage and backup.

My Fix

The repair was intricate and I was nervous at first of the wires that needs to be pulled, but at the end it was successful. I now run the original 750GB drive that came with the machine, along with a 500GB SSD as the primary hard drive.

My Advice

Make sure to know the direction of where the wires should be pulled, that's a huge payoff when you figure that one out. In step 14 when you're putting the laptop back together, the three 2.7 mm Phillips screws are meant to be a tight fit, so tuck them in the drive casing first before putting back into laptop.
