My Problem
Cracked glass on display, but display still worked
My Fix
This was my first screen replacement and I thought it went well. I made sure to read through 3 repair guides (Front Panel Assy., Battery Replacement, Home Button) and the comments posted by others before I started. I also followed the guides as I worked on the iPhone. With interruptions and just taking my time, it took about 2 hours. I'm sure the next time I can get that well under an hour. Keeping track of the tiny screws, not mixing them up, or loosing them was a concern. Bottom line, the new screen turned ON and works great.
My Advice
It's tough to describe in words the "feel" of how much force is used to release/replace a connector so it's something you learn when you do it for the first time.
