Botched battery job

2 - 3 hours

Very difficult

My Problem

I purchased a used 4th Gen Nano from a pawn shop and soon discovered that it had a bad battery.

My Fix

I ended up ruining this ipod. Step 4 or 5 in the guide did not account for the instance of the display tray/assembly being stuck in the casing. I tried to get it loose for about two hours and finally ruined the display. At least I only paid $10 for this ipod so it's not a huge loss. I would guess that this ipod had been crushed somehow by the previous owner.

I did, however, come to discover this site and the less expensive parts, repair guides, etc, so it's not a total loss.

My Advice

IPods seem to be very easy to break...at least mine was.
