My Problem
Bringing the phone to Apple to repair wasn't an option, since we need the phone 24x7. Knowing that I'd probably be able to get this done in an hour or so, while also gaining the knowledge on repairing a phone - this seemed like a slam-dunk decision.
My Fix
The tools and the use of the Pro Magnetic Project Mat made the process very straightforward. If you're comfortable with computer internals and handling (very) small items, this is very straightforward. You can do it!
My Advice
One step is missing from the iFixit guide: There is a very tiny filter on the old glass that must be moved to the new glass. It simply needs to be pried up from the old glass using either the spudger or an exacto knife and moved to the new glass.
