Get the full assembly, not LCD/Front Panel/Digitizer only

Problem: Broken screen

Solution: Order display only (not camera or home button)

My Fix

FAIL. The iFixit guide for display replacement stopped short of removing the old camera/earpiece/home button, so I had to wing it. When trying to scrape the home button off my old display, I must have broken the connection, so my home button didn't work after the repair. I figured I would try to see if I just needed to clean or reposition the contacts, but all the removing and reassembling eventually caused me to crack the new display. Now I'm ordering another display, but this time with the home button.

My Advice

1) get the full assembly with the front facing camera and home button.

2) be VERY careful working with an unbroken screen - they break easily. If it's not going in easily, check for burrs on the aluminum frame and sand them down if they might be causing the display to stick.
