Macbook -flashing folder-replaced hard drive cable -super easy

My Problem

Macbook froze - I manually shut it down. Upon reboot I get the flashing folder. I think that the hard drive is bust. However when I plug my hard drive in via usb it is fine indicating that the hard drive cable was likely broken. I fixed it because the computer is only 2.5 years old and I am a little handy (especially when there are good guides!)

My Advice

1. If you have a mac, make sure you back up with time machine

2. For anyone with a computer, get a usb/sata cord to check if your hard drive works before ditching it

3. Research before bringing to a repair shop - the internet is your friend
