My Problem

So I dropped my iPhone into a swimming pool while at a party. It was only in the pool for around 5-8 seconds. I did everything they say not to do. Kept using it till it dies, tried plugging it in, and kept trying to turn it on despite knowing better. Dumb right? Well I decided to let it dry out for a week and see if it worked. After a week when I plugged it in, it just flashed the apple symbol over and over again. I did some research and even though I didn't get a definite answer, I decided that I'd try a new battery. What the heck right? It's just 30 bucks in chance that it would save me 800.

My Fix

The repair went really well, it was super easy (for me anyway) and only took about 30 minutes. The hardest part was getting the old battery out and getting the new adhesive in straight. But after I got it all installed, but the screen back on, I held the power button in doubt and BAM! It turned on. And to my amazement it was FULLY functional. All buttons worked, screen is perfect, sound works perfect, calls, texts, Bluetooth, wifi everything! Guess I got lucky.

My Advice

All I have to say that even if your iPhone takes a swim. After it dries out, if it still shows sputters of life, DONT THROW IT AWAY. It has a real possibility of being fixed!
