My Problem
My daughters Macbook pro would not boot. Removed the drive and reformatted it and it worked in a different machine. Bought a new SSD drive for the MBPro but it would not be recognized internally although it worked via external firewire and USB. Ordered the SATA cable.
My Fix
Got the SATA cable from iFixit, easy installation, fixed the problem. The machine works much better with the new SSD drive also, much faster boot and run times.
My Advice
Pretty straight forward. I repair a lot of machines as an IT professional. This was pretty easy, just take care with these cables as they are delicate.
