My Problem
I dropped my phone and I guess I am one of the rare few where the screen doesn't even break but instead started showing black lines. I decided to try this fix instead of spending $125+ at the apple store.

The repair was quite easy with the guide.
My Advice
I didn't purchase an iOpener because i didn't see the need to waste the money on something I'd use once. What I did instead was get my iron and heat up a shirt to where it was above warm (i.e. you can hold it in your hand but its hot enough where your palms start to sweat) I applied light pressure to the earpiece, where I would use the iOpener, and slowly pulled the earpiece off. It did take longer to loosen the adhesive but it still worked in the end and I saved whatever the iOpener cost. Also make sure to keep track of screws! I was unlucky in that I lost two screws. I was able to find one of the lost screws but one of those small little guys is still out there in the wilderness that is my workroom.
