My Problem
Girlfriend's 4S speaker gave up the ghost. The speaker started crackling a few months ago and got to the point where no sound was emitted.
My Fix
Repair went well; I am used to working on iPhones from the 3G/3GS era. Took around 30 minutes from start to finish.
My Advice
I would recommend replacing the battery when repairing the speaker; it is very difficult to remove the battery without any deformation.
The wifi antenna is extremely difficult to remove due to the 'sticker' that is holding it to the speaker enclosure. This took the most of my repair time.
