My Problem

LED screen was crushed by my wife!!!!

My Fix

The recommended replacement part suggested by Fixit was perfect and the repair went as discussed on the How to pages. Only problem was the suggested Phillips screw driver did not fit the tiny screws and had to be modified to fit. Otherwise, a piece of cake.

My Advice

Use a magnifying glass to seat screws.

My Problem

Authorized Surface Technician for several brands of Laptop/Tablet/Phones

Our current tools where rubbish, some of them 15 years old.

My Fix

Great, the tools where ordered Friday evening, and arrived by lunch time Monday....In New Zealand, great job iFixt on getting the order ready and shipped so quick.

So far all the tools have been great, the wooden case for the 54 bit driver kit looks amazing.

My Advice

The "friction-less" ratchet was a little disappointing, it has far to much friction to use it for most of the screws the 54 bit driver kit fit.

My Problem

Shattered screen. And a weak battery that I bought a replacement for at an iPhone repair store.

My Fix

First of all be aware that the Display Panel Assembly is not the same thing as the Front Panel Assembly. You save money doing the Display panel assembly kit but it's a bit more treacherous. Otherwise, besides for a few 15min sessions trying to get a single screw in place, the %#*@ thing works! Can't believe it. Snapping the front panel down was one of the more exhilarating feelings I've had! (I know this doesn't make me look very worldly).

My Advice

During Home Button Assembly, when you're putting the phone together, don't worry that the Home Button doesn't "pop" like a regular iPhone button. It will get that "pop," assuming it's placed right, once you re-connect the front panel. Spent a few hours agonizing over whether I should dig the membrane further down until I felt a pop with the home button or proceed with the possibility that I would have to go back and redo the Home Button Assembly. Fortunately, the instructions were simple and correct - don't second guess yourself too much!! (easier said than done). Also if you're doing a screen repair, might as well do a battery replacement as well. It's not much harder and you're already in there.

My Problem

I had an Apple Service center replace the top half of my MacBook pro 15" due to a crack in the screen. Ever since then I've had horrendous wifi reception. When I talked to them they said I'd need to drop it off for 3-5 days for "diagnosis". I was 99% sure they hadn't reconnected the Wifi antenna correctly, but still, they wouldn't just open it up and look at it (even with the Applecare #)

My Fix

Took out the screws, found the loose antenna connection, connected it, and closed it back up. Instant happiness. Took 10 minutes tops.

Used the Pentalobe driver to open the back case, and used the precision tweezers to grab the insanely small connector.

My Advice

If you have a modicum of mechanical ability, many common problems can be fixed. Granted, this could have been a more serious problem, but I didn't lose 3 days without my main work machine in order to tell me something that I already knew (WiFi reception was poor, most likely due to antenna not being connected).

My Problem

I had a bicycle accident and I got my iphone 5S crystal scrren and lcd broken

My Fix

Just fine. I had a little problem during the front button reassembly refering to the metal support and a small squared linner but finally i got it the right way.

My Advice

the step-by-step guide was of great help and the video guide too. I would add a little more detail in the video guide maybe adding, for some steps, a detailed photo, slide or diagram as support.

My Problem

I was fixing it for a student that wanted his/her IPad fix.

My Fix

The repair went ok, it took around Three hours to repair. I really have to take time to heat the glass to remove. So I don't break the glass, if you do break the grass. you just might scratch the surface of the LCD screen.

My Advice

you will need the definitely tools to remove the glass. Plastic Opening Tools, which you will need a lot of them. one isn't just enough, get extra just in case. Heavy duty Spudger works great, when removing connectors. didn't really need the metal spudger set, but I got it anyway. maybe use it on something else. you will definitely need a precision tweezers set, because the screws are so small. you will need plastic cards and opening picks. don't forget to get a screw driver small enough for those small screws, there are tiny. oh yeah, be careful lifting the screen. the screen is in perfect condition when it arrive. I will buy I fix again, if you are ordering from Canada, you will pay duty fee. my cost around 49.99 duty fee, plus the shipping I have to pay about 30.00 bucks. plus I didn't really need a suction cup. you can use a heat gun, or that iopener thing. I have use a heat gun which was dewalt.

My Problem

I repair my own and friends' and clients' computers, I needed to stock up on tools and supplies.

My Fix

To quote Al Green's song: 'How can you mend a broken heart?" These tools didn't do it...

My Advice

Yea. Don't ask a wiseacre like me for advice, I'll tell you to wear clean underwear in case you get in an accident.

My Problem

These purchases were just additional pieces to my toolbox, but I do love the heavy-duty spudger, it's very durable.

My Fix

Overall it went great, but I couldn't finish the 3G until the suction cup came in, so this is just part #1 of the repair

My Advice

Nothing, great guides and tools. I've made consecutive purchases for these reasons alone.
