My Problem

After fixing my sister's iPhone, she pulled a smashed iPad from her closet. It was in a bubbly green foam "protective" frame that had obviously been no match for her toddler son. She had not used it in years and thought my son and I might be able to do something with it. We were eager to put it on t . . .

My Problem

iPad 2 Digitizer was in pretty worse for wear shape and iPhone 5 battery went from full to empty in a few hours.

My Fix

The hard repair. iPad 2 Digitizer came off in no less than 1 million small glass fragments. With some patients and some careful elbow grease, the digitizer was off. New one on and like . . .

My Problem

iPad 2 - shattered glass --not just cracked - shattered with part of the glass missing and the wifi/bluetooth cable exposed. iPad worked fine, just left glass in your fingers!

My Fix

Took about 4 hours to completely remove all the broken glass. I applied tape as suggested, but this glass was just that . . .

My Problem

We are a 1:1 school with iPads 3-8 grade. From time to time we need to repair the screens.

My Fix

Every year I get a new set of helpers. I teach them how to repair devices.

It's always a nervous time when they first remove an iPad screen but after two or three they get the hang of it.

My Advice

Take your time don't o . . .

Busted LCD

My Fix

Repair went ok

My Advice

I bought new lcd and digitizer because I was not sure if I can remove the digitizer without messing it up. The tools that came with it helped but I have to buy a heat gun and a tool better than a plastic spudger. With the heat gun set at 400 F it was easy removing the digiti . . .

Broken Front Panel

My Fix

Extremely difficult. Required the assistance of a skilled electronics/computer engineer friend

My Advice

Rule #1: Don't drop your iPad on a brick surface! Order the complete repair kit with the new home button and necessary tools. It will make your life much easier. Read all instructions . . .

My Problem

A person cracked the display on the device

My Fix

Taking off the the original display is a pain as usual. There's glass everywhere and me wishing I had one of those fancy iFixit Tool Kits.

My Advice

Make sure to take your time and make sure to buy the iFixit Tool kit. I'm sure it would've made it 100 times easier if I . . .

My Problem

I dropped my iPad on the corner and it shattered the entire screen.

My Fix

Small Break = No Problem. Shattered = Difficult. It went well and not really that difficult normally, except my screen was extremely shattered so it was hard to remove the individual pieces of glass. If it only had a couple cracked a . . .
