My Fix

I actually got the existing fan working again-for now. Using the guide on iFixit, I extracted the noisy fan, took it apart (there's only three parts), dippe . . .

Original MBP battery had worn out.

Original iPhone4s battery had worn out.

My Fix

My MacBookPro has a user replaceable battery so there was no challenge there, but so far the iFixIt battery seems just fine...only one cycle on it so far.

The pentalobe screwdriver to open the iPhone worked fine, of course, an . . .
