The Core 2 Duo MacBooks feature beefier processors, thanks to the Core 2 Duo chipset. The Santa Rosa versions feature faster bus speeds and a graphics processor upgrade. A comprehensive change to a new type of logic board connector makes this version largely incompatible with prior MacBook versions. Penryn versions feature faster processor speeds. For the Early and Mid 2009 models, Apple introduced optical drives with SATA interface. Bluetooth has also been updated to version 2.1.
